Parliamentary association to host seminar for lawmakers
Lawmakers will be invited to take part in a seminar this week organised in collaboration with the UK branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
In a statement, a spokeswoman said the Bermuda Parliament had invited the CPA to hold a post-election seminar for the benefit of MPs and senators.
She added: “It presents an opportunity for Bermuda’s legislators to actively engage with fellow parliamentarians and parliamentary officials from Anguilla, Isle of Man, Jersey, The Bahamas, Turks & Caicos Islands, Trinidad & Tobago and the UK.
“Session topics of interest for Bermuda’s members will include the responsibilities of members and clerks, the separation of powers, cross-party collaboration, exploring the use of AI and technology in parliaments, parliamentary questions and debate, effective committee inquiries and communication skills for engagement with the public.”
The seminar, to be held at Rosewood Bermuda, will start tomorrow and continue until Wednesday.
As a result, the Legislature Office in Veritas Place will be closed for the duration.
