The island’s much anticipated Budget statement charting the Government’s fiscal road map for 2026-27 will be heard this morning in the House of Assembly.

David Burt, the Premier and finance minister, will read the estimates of revenue and expenditure for the new fiscal year, which will begin on April 1.

Mr Burt said earlier that the Budget would be grounded in “fairness and long-term planning, not short-term fixes” including measures to address the cost of living, reduce the national debt and upgrade the island’s infrastructure.

The One Bermuda Alliance is scheduled to host a press conference on the subject of the Budget this afternoon, with the formal Budget reply to be delivered in the House next Friday.

The Budget will then be debated ministry-by-ministry over the coming weeks by MPs and then again in the Senate.
