Progressive Labour Party members recognised International Women’s Day through a collage, volunteering with a charity and a yoga fundraiser.

The PLP’s Women’s Caucus assembled a collage of women inspired by this year’s IWD theme “Give to Gain” and prepared food at Meals on Wheels on March 9.

It will also host a yoga dance event, led by PLP candidate Joanne Ball-Burgess, at St Mary’s Church hall in Warwick on March 14.

The suggested donation for the event is $10 and part of the proceeds will be given to the Centre Against Abuse.

A statement added: “The PLP Women’s Caucus is dedicated to advancing gender equity, supporting women in the labour movement and building community partnerships that promote safety, health and economic opportunity.

“The caucus will also be organising public education and wellness events in the future.”
