A public meeting will be held on Tuesday for talks about the Government’s proposal to seek full membership of Caricom.

It will form part of continuing consultation on the Green Paper tabled in the House of Assembly by Alexa Lightbourne, the Minister of Home Affairs.

Residents have been invited to submit feedback since the launch of the website togetherforcaricom.gov.bm as well as a series of stakeholder engagements.

Ms Lightbourne said: “Bermudians deserve to be informed and to have their questions answered.

“This is part of a broader process of bringing the public along as we work through a decision that the Government is well-equipped to make.

“Deepening ties with Caricom is about people, shared history and shared prosperity.”

The meeting will be hosted by the ministry from 6pm on April 7 at St Paul AME Church’s Centennial Hall.

“Members of the public are encouraged to visit togetherforcaricom.gov.bm ahead of the meeting to read the Green Paper and come prepared to engage,” the ministry said.
