Argus hires three managers from rival local insurers

New appointments: Peter Crayford, assistant vice-president, property and casualty, Lisa Jackson, assistant vice-president, pension client relations, and Anthony Donaghy, internal audit manager, group risk and compliance at the Argus Group

The Argus Group yesterday announced three new appointments to its senior management team after recruiting them from rival local insurers.Peter Crayford has joined Argus as assistant vice-president, property and casualty, Lisa Jackson takes on the role of assistant vice-president, pension client relations, and Anthony Donaghy has been appointed internal audit manager, group risk and compliance.Alison Hill, CEO of the Argus Group, said: “I wish Peter, Lisa and Anthony a very warm welcome to the senior management team at Argus. They will each play an integral role in ensuring Argus remains competitive and continues to recognise its corporate governance obligations, as we grow our solid market share and continue to strengthen our core operations.”Mr Crayford will be responsible for providing leadership in underwriting, claims and business development, with a focus on commercial business lines at Argus. Reporting to the vice-president, property and casualty, he is also tasked with assisting in the development of new high-quality and robust products and services.Mr Crayford has 10 years of strategic operational and personnel management experience and joins Argus from BF&M, where he held the position of business underwriter. Prior to relocating to the Island in 2007, he was worked in the UK in various management and broking roles, including an eight-year stint with Willis Group.Ms Jackson will lead a team of pension administrators at Argus, concentrating on client communications, satisfaction and retention. She will be responsible for building strong relationships with clients and will evaluate and, where appropriate, re-engineer products, operating models and processes to meet these requirements. Ms Jackson will report to the executive vice-president, life and pensions.She joins Argus from Freisenbruch-Meyer Insurance Services, where she was manager, group employee benefits.She has also held the position of chief operating officer at Maximum Pensions Services Ltd. and manager, pension administration at HSBC Bank Bermuda Ltd.Mr Donaghy will be responsible for overseeing the internal audit function for the Argus Group, providing independent assurance that the major risks affecting the company are being managed appropriately. Mr Donaghy previously held the position of assistant financial controller at BF&M. Prior to this he worked at the CL Financial Group in Trinidad and Tobago as audit manager.
