Doran named a ‘power broker’

Power broker: Bowring Marsh’s Krista Doran

Krista Doran, a senior vice-president at Bowring Marsh has been named a 2011 Power Broker by Risk & Insurance magazine.The award recognises her creativity, problem-solving ability, industry knowledge, and commitment to delivering superior client service in the chemical industry sector. Ms Doran is the only broker from Bermuda to make the list, which was released in the latest issue of the magazine.As senior vice-president in the excess casualty department and a 17-year veteran at Bowring Marsh, Ms Doran is responsible for placing and managing excess liability programmes with the Island’s insurers on behalf of Marsh clients. Her portfolio is primarily focused on clients within the chemical, marine and energy, and life science industries.“I am very pleased that Krista’s skill and experience has been acknowledged by a Power Broker designation for 2011,” said Chris Reeves, a managing director at Marsh and president and chief operating officer of Bowring Marsh (Bermuda) Ltd.“Insurance for the chemical industry is noted for being particularly challenging and Krista has a stellar track record in providing innovative solutions to our clients. Her negotiation and client service skills are exceptional and we congratulate her on this honor.”The Power Broker designations are based on nominations provided by brokers and risk managers and judged by separate panels of risk managers for each industry segment.Hundreds of risk managers were interviewed in the process of identifying, soliciting, evaluating, and judging the final nominations. Individuals were judged mainly on their creativity in solving risk-related problems during 2010, their industry knowledge and their high level of client service.
