Japan disaster to top agenda at ILS Summit

The impact of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami on the insurance linked securities (ILS) market will be one of the main talking points at the 10th Insurance Linked Securities Summit held in Bermuda this summer.The event entitled ‘Mitigating Risk, Maximising Returns and Building Networks with Leaders in ILS, Cat Bonds, Life Settlements and Longevity-Based Assets’ will take place at the Fairmont Southampton between July 18 and 20.Also on the agenda will be emerging forms of investments such as reputational risk and health insurance cat bonds, a focus on Bermuda, Cayman and other offshore players in the ILS space, and the impact of Solvency II on both sides of the ILS value chain.More than 40 industry leaders and experts will be speaking at the conference, including Tim Faries, partner at Appleby, Charles Collis, director of Conyers Dill & Pearman, Kai Morgenstern, vice-president of RenaissanceRe, and Graeme Dargie, a director of the Bermuda Monetary Authority.The event, which is being hosted by IQPC, has an early bird rate for registrations before Friday, May 20 and group discounts available.For more information visit the IQPC website at www.iqpc.com
