New reinsurer, Third Point Re, has appointed Bermudian Tonya Marshall to executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary with the companyJohn Berger, chairman and CEO of Third Point Re, welcomed Ms Marshall: “We are delighted that someone of Tonya’s experience, quality and stature is joining us. Third Point Re is committed to the reinsurance industry and to the Bermuda business community and we are looking forward to working with Tonya as a member of our executive team.”Prior to joining Third Point Re, Ms Marshall was the general counsel and board secretary for Butterfield Bank, in the international banking, asset and wealth management group, where she was responsible for the group’s legal function and acted as corporate secretary to the group’s holding company.Before joining Butterfield in 2008, Ms Marshall was employed by the international law firm of Conyers, Dill & Pearman.She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University, Canada, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Buckingham in England.
