S&P affirms Oil’s A- rating

Standard and Poor’s has affirmed A- financial strength rating of Bermuda-based mutual insurer Oil Insurance Ltd with a stable outlook.President and CEO Robert Stauffer commented that “as a result of the high credit quality of our membership, strong capitalisation and operational flexibility, OIL has maintained its A- financial strength rating since September 2005“.Oil Insurance Ltd (OIL) insures nearly $2 trillion of global energy assets for more than 50 members with property limits up to $300 million availing more than $11 billion in total A- rated property capacity.Members are medium to large sized public and private energy companies with at least $1 billion in physical property assets and an investment grade rating or equivalent.
