Insurance bosses to discuss state of Bermuda market
Issues facing Bermuda’s insurance industry will be in focus at the Ernst & Young P&C Insurance Outlook event today.Third Point Re CEO John Berger, Endurance Specialty Holdings CEO David Cash and retired XL CEO Brian O’Hara will take part in a panel discussion during the event, which runs from 9am to 12 noon at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.The CEO panel will be moderated by Pete Cangany, who will become a partner and insurance sector leader in the Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands region of E&Y’s Financial Services Office.Mr Cangany has more than 25 years experience in serving the firm’s insurance clients and most recently was the Financial Services sector leader for Ernst & Young’s Southwest Area.A panel on accounting hot topics will feature Stephen Robb, corporate controller at XL, Jennifer Weiner, senior practice fellow at FASB, and Mark Wilcox, chief accounting officer at RenaissanceRe.The rapidly evolving corporate landscape will be the subject of the final panel discussion. Speaking on that topic will be Shanna Lespere, director, international affairs at the Bermuda Monetary Authority, Francis Morin, chief actuary at Arch and David Skinner, CFO and COO of Aspen.Ernst & Young country managing partner Gil Tucker will give introductory remarks.
