Allied World promotes 25 staff members

Allied World has promoted close to 20 percent of its Bermuda staff base so far in 2013, with appointments spanning every level and department of the company.Out of an office of 128 employees, 25 have been promoted, pending immigration approval. The announcement said management is a signal of its commitment to Bermuda as a jurisdiction.“We are immensely proud of our Bermuda-based employees who were recently promoted — their hard work and dedication are integral to Allied World’s ongoing success both locally and worldwide,” said Frank D’Orazio, president of Allied World’s Bermuda & International insurance platform. “Our Bermuda platform plays an important role in our global strategy, and we are committed to its continued growth.”Promotions were announced in their actuarial and modelling, claims, finance, IT, internal audit, marketing and communications, operations and underwriting departments for both their insurance and reinsurance areas.Bermudian Kirsten Faria was among the group promoted in January. She was made chief operating officer, the role has never before been held by a Bermudian woman.John Telenko, has been promoted to take over for Ms Faria’s previous role as senior vice president and Bermuda Branch Manager of their healthcare unit.Other senior appointments include Faye Cook, who has been promoted to senior vice president of their marketing & communications department, where she will continue to oversee the global marketing and communications strategies for Allied World.Henry Felix and Patrick Kenahan have been appointed to senior vice president, Bermuda Branch Managers of Allied World’s property and general casualty departments, respectively. Paul DeGiulio has been promoted to senior vice president, overseeing the company’s casualty and healthcare claims division.These promotions are effective immediately, pending immigration approval where necessary.
