The actuary’s role is evolving into one which entails greater input into strategic business decisions.

That is a trend noted by professional-services firm Deloitte, which is hosting a webcast next week to address the changing expectations of insurance companies with regard to their actuarial functions.

The webcast, which starts at 3pm next Monday, will be given by Deloitte & Touche LLP partner Gary Shaw, an insurance industry expert, and will offer “insights into an actuarial modernisation approach that can help actuaries evolve from an operational to a more strategic focus”.
