Bermuda specialty reinsurer MultiStrat has appointed a former Bank of Bermuda senior manager to its board of directors.

Raymond O’Neill — a specialist in asset management — held senior posts at the bank, now HSBC.

Bob Furness, chairman and chief executive officer of MultiStrat, said: “Raymond’s expertise and insights on building a high-quality, service-oriented international platform for our asset management clients will be invaluable at this stage of the company’s development.

“I look forward to working with him as we enhance and expand the number of asset manager sponsored reinsurance companies on our platform.”

Mr O’Neill, a 28-year veteran of financial services, was founding member and CEO of global professional services firm Kinetic Partners in 2005 and in 2014 started ARC Directors (Ireland), which provides director services to investment fund managers and special purpose vehicles.

In addition to Bermuda, he has worked in London, Dublin and the US.

Mr O’Neill said: “I am delighted to be joining the board of MultiStrat where the strong management team is creating entrepreneurial solutions that bridge the insurance and investment management industries globally.
