Positive feedback for BFIS networking lunch
About 50 students and insurance industry professionals attended a special networking lunch held by the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies (BFIS).
Undergraduates, recent graduates and high school students got the chance to meet actuaries, accountants, underwriters, brokers and operational personnel and discuss career choices.
BFIS executive director Cathy Lapsley said: “The comments received from both students and professionals were all very positive.
“The random contacts that are made can be career changing and we cannot thank the professionals enough for volunteering their time.”
The next BFIS speed networking event, targeted at high school pupils, will be held next month.
The event was held last Wednesday at the XL Catlin building.
The BFIS mentor networking programme is sponsored by the Aon Rhondelle Tankard Memorial Fund, set up in the name of a Bermudian woman who died in the 9/11 terror attack on New York in 2001.
