The London arm of Hamilton Insurance Group has appointed a new deputy active underwriter.

Adrian Daws — a veteran underwriter — has joined Hamilton Underwriting Ltd, the managing agency of Lloyd’s of London syndicate 3334 and Hamilton’s Lloyd’s operations.

Dermot O’Donohoe, chief executive officer of Hamilton Underwriting, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Adrian to the Hamilton team.

“With a proven track record of building successful and profitable accounts of specialty business, he’s considered a rising star in the Lloyd’s market.”

Mr Daws has 15 years’ experience in the industry, with 13 years spent underwriting specialty classes of business.

He joined Hamilton Underwriting from Hardy Underwriting Agencies, where he was head of specialty lines for seven years.

Mr O’Donohoe said: “As we continue to expand the platform that we are establishing at Lloyd’s, Adrian’s experience and his well established relationships will be significant assets.”
