Bermudian-based Oil Casualty Insurance Ltd has hired a new property underwriter.

Natasha Pethick, an underwriter at Axis Specialty, is a specialist in managing a diverse book of large property risks.

Jerry Rivers, Ocil’s chief operating officer, said: “Ocil began underwriting direct property insurance for the energy and mining industries in late 2012.

“More recently, Ocil announced a diversification strategy to underwrite beyond energy company risks and Natasha’s expertise will greatly contribute to the successful execution of that strategy.”

Ocil is an insurance and reinsurance company providing various forms of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance coverage for wide range of industries, with a particular focus on the energy and mining.
