Insurtech in the US will be the topic of a panel discussion next week at the Hamilton Princess.

The event is being hosted by the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies and Drinker Biddle’s Insurance Regulatory and Transactional Team.

It will look at the insurtech sector and what types of products and programmes are being offered, who the key industry participants are, who is investing, who is providing capacity, and how US insurance regulators are reacting.

The event also aims to provide practical advice to insurers and reinsurers who may be thinking of supporting US insurtech ventures.

Speakers on the panel include Drinker Biddle attorneys Michael Byrne, Michael Halsband and John Mulhern. The discussion is titled “Insurtech in the US market: a midyear update”.

The moderator will be Thomas Dawson, Drinker Biddle partner and co-head of the firm’s insurance regulatory and transactional team.

Drinker Biddle chairman Andrew Kassner will also attend and introduce the speakers.

The event will be on Thursday, July 13 from 5pm to 6pm.
