Parri Spector has joined Catalina Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd in the new role of director of M&A and reinsurance transactions to help the island company pursue run-off opportunities in the US.

Mr Spector will focus on developing Catalina's business in the US by capturing opportunities presented by continued active deal flow.

He will be based in Catalina's New York office and will work closely with the Catalina M&A team.

Mr Spector has more than 20 years of insurance M&A and capital markets experience, including his most recent role at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, where he was managing director, investment banking and head of insurance M&A.

Before this, Mr Spector worked for Keefe, Bruyette & Woods as managing director in the firm's insurance investment banking group. He has worked closely with Catalina on a number of successful US transactions in recent years.

Mayur Patel, head of M&A and reinsurance transactions at Catalina said: “Catalina has a well-established platform in the US, successfully completing ten transactions to date, employing 60 team members across four US offices and currently owning five regulated US insurance companies.

“We continue to see active deal flow in the US and with Parri's insurance and transaction experience, we believe we will be able to accelerate the growth of Catalina's US platform.”
