The 15th annual Bermuda Railway Trek will take place on Tuesday, and there is still time to sign up to join in.

The walk is being presented by Willis Towers Watson and Paragon Brokers (Bermuda) Ltd.

The event raises funds to support Bermudians who are pursuing a risk management or actuarial science undergraduate degree at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

This walk is from Somerset Bridge to the Swizzle Inn at Hamilton Parish.

The event was started in 2004 by Gary Meggs, of Southern Company, and Greg McCollister, of McGriff Seibels & Williams.

The fund has awarded more than $200,000 in undergraduate scholarships, with 51 Bermudians graduating from the programme. Twenty students from Bermuda are currently enrolled at Georgia State University, and three of them are supported by the Bermuda Scholarship Fund.

Bermuda College has a collaborative programme whereby Bermudians attend two years of local schooling, followed by a transfer to Georgia State University as a third-year student.

Anyone who is interested in taking part in the Bermuda Railway Trek, or who would like to make a pledge, should e-mail Deb.desilva@willistowerswatson.com or Ahayne@paragonbroker.com
