Parry to be new Armour Group CFO

Former Lloyd’s of London’s chief financial officer, John Parry, will become the new Armour Group CFO next month.

Armour Group announced the appointment today.

“We are delighted that John has agreed to join Armour as group CFO,” said Brad Huntington, Armour chairman and chief executive officer. “He has impeccable financial services and regulatory credentials and will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our group. I am looking forward to working closely with him as we continue to execute our strategy successfully.”

Mr Parry is a seasoned senior financial services executive with extensive insurance industry experience. He most recently served as the CFO for Lloyd’s of London, where he was responsible for the financial reporting of the market’s results and capital adequacy in addition to treasury and investment management. In this role, he also oversaw the tax affairs of the Society of Lloyd’s and the market in the UK and overseas. Prior to joining Lloyd’s in 2001, Mr Parry was finance director of various Lloyd’s managing agents and is a qualified accountant.

At Armour Group, Mr Parry will report directly to the group executive committee.

Mr Parry said he was pleased to join Armour and was excited about the significant opportunities for growth and development of the company.

“Armour has a best-in-class team and I look forward to working with them to further the company’s strategic objectives,” Mr Parry said.

Armour is a Bermuda-based group of insurance and reinsurance companies that service companies which specialise in the creation and implementation of solutions and acquisitions within the run-off insurance marketplace.

Mr Perry’s appointment is subject to immigration approval.
