Report: deputy CUO moves on from Convex

The Insurer is reporting that Sharmini Samuels is on the move from her role as deputy chief underwriting officer at Convex Re, after nearly six years with the company.

Ms Samuels is an experienced underwriter, according to her LinkedIn page.

She spent three years in casualty treaty at Catlin Insurance Company to 2007 before spending more than five years as a casualty treaty underwriter with American Safety Insurance.

She joined Hiscox in November 2013 and left more than five years later as vice-president casualty.

In July 2019, she joined Convex as a US casualty treaty underwriter and was promoted after three years to deputy chief underwriting officer of the international specialty carrier.

The Insurer is a Reuters company. It reported that according to sources with knowledge of the situation, Ms Samuels has left her role with Convex.
