Vantage Group Holdings Ltd has appointed Jim Gunson as chief claims officer for the group's insurance operations.

He will report to Alex Blanco, CEO of insurance, leading Vantage's claims organisation focusing on innovation, efficiency and exceptional service.

The company said Mr Gunson will lead claims strategies that emphasise Vantage's commitment to its policyholders, ensuring claims are handled efficiently and fairly.

He will use his extensive experience to drive initiatives leveraging Vantage's core data, technology and analytics capabilities. Additionally, he will prioritise cross-functional co-ordination, supporting the company's brokers and clients.

Mr Blanco said: “Jim's strategic mindset and team-oriented approach make him an invaluable addition to our team.

“His depth of technical claims and legal expertise, combined with his understanding of insurance operations, finance and analytics, will be instrumental in advancing our claims strategy.

“We are confident in his ability to deliver exceptional value to our clients and build further momentum across our specialty insurance businesses.”

Before joining Vantage, Mr Gunson gained experience at several insurers, where he led claims strategies that enhanced accountability, efficiency and customer service, managing complex claims portfolios and driving operational excellence.

Vantage's ten specialty insurance businesses include casualty, construction, cyber and E&O, financial lines, healthcare, management liability, large property, and political risk and credit in the US; and casualty and financial and professional lines in Bermuda.
