SiriusPoint appoints global head of claims

The global speciality insurer and reinsurer, SiriusPoint Ltd, has appointed David Turner as global head of claims, effective October 7.

Mr Turner will report to Scott Egan, the company’s chief executive.

Mr Turner will lead the global claims function, overseeing teams across London and New York.

He will be based in New York, joining SiriusPoint from Fidelis, where he was group head of claims, working across key underwriting hubs.

Before Fidelis, he was global claims director at MS Amlin, where he led the development and implementation of a global claims strategy. He also spent time in the claims team at Willis.

Commenting on Mr Turner’s appointment, Mr Egan said: “SiriusPoint’s claims function has evolved considerably over the last few years as we enhance the claims experience for our partners and clients.

“David is a highly experienced claims leader, and I am looking forward to welcoming him to the team to oversee the development of our global offering.”

Mr Turner said: “I’m excited to be joining SiriusPoint’s global claims team at such a pivotal moment in the company’s journey. SiriusPoint has been through a period of significant transformation and is now in a strong position, with a revitalised culture and clear strategic direction.

“The claims function has made impressive strides, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to drive performance and service excellence for our clients and partners.”
