Ariel Re has approval from Lloyd’s for its Syndicate 2006 to start writing business for the 2026 year of account, the Bermudian-based reinsurer announced.

Syndicate 2006 has immediate permission to underwrite according to its 2026 business plan, according to Ariel Re Managing Agency Ltd.

The approval follows the confirmation in September from Lloyd’s Capital & Planning Group of the 2026 business plan and economic capital assessment for the syndicate.

Syndicate 2006 is a more balanced and diversified reinsurance platform, underwriting both speciality lines and property reinsurance, the Ariel Re statement said.

The statement continued: “The syndicate will use Ariel Re’s expertise and strong track record in speciality classes such as marine, energy, cyber, transition and renewable energy as a foundation for further expansion.

“With a commitment to underwriting excellence and advanced technical capabilities, Ariel Re is confident that Syndicate 2006 will deliver meaningful capital solutions for clients and generate attractive returns for investors.”
