The Bermuda International Long-Term Insurers and Reinsurers has outlined its priorities for 2026, building on what it said was a year of strengthened policy frameworks, deeper industry understanding and broader stakeholder collaboration.

The organisation also confirmed plans for its 2026 Life and Annuity Conference, scheduled for September 28 and 29 at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club

The industry body said it will focus on strengthening regulatory understanding, contributing data-driven insights to international policy discussions, increasing transparency and promoting Bermuda’s regulatory rigour, while continuing to champion policyholder protection and responsible growth.

Suzanne Williams, the chief executive of Biltir, said Bermuda’s voice in the global long-term insurance and reinsurance sector was “deliberate, disciplined and stronger than ever”.

Biltir will continue to be led by Natasha Scotland Courcy as chairwoman of the board, with Jamie Schmerer appointed as vice-chair.
