Lockton Re appoints Robert Bisset CEO, North America
Robert Bisset has been appointed chief executive, North America, at Lockton Re and Nick Durant has been appointed global vice-chairman. They take up their new posts February 1.
Bringing three decades of industry experience of working in the United States, Sydney, Bermuda and London, Mr Bisset joined Lockton Re in 2021 as chairman, global retrocession and property speciality, Bermuda and market capital.
He began his career at EW Blanch in 1994 in the US, eventually joining the EW Blanch Capital Markets division which took him to London in 1998.
In 2002, Mr Bisset transferred to Bermuda to assist in the creation of Benfield’s new platform on the island and later became CEO of the Benfield, then Aon Benfield, Bermuda office.
He relocated to London in 2013 and ran Aon’s Global ReSpecialty team as CEO from 2014 to 2019.
Of his latest move, Lockton Re said: “He has built out all of these areas, supporting the launch of new practices and capabilities.
“Mr Bisset will continue to foster his current connections across North America and throughout the global marketplace to support the next phase of development for Lockton Re in North America.”

Mr Durant was part of the small founding group that launched Lockton Re in North America in 2019, bringing experience in sales, client segments and product specialities.
In this new role as global vice-chairman, Mr Durant will focus on capital solutions, global account growth and the development of emerging global segments
