ILS listings for BSX top $65bn
The Bermuda Stock Exchange’s market dominance in insurance-linked-securities deepened over the past year.
There were 209 new cat bonds listed on the BSX, up 34 per cent on the 156 new listings in 2024.
“The strong level of ILS issuance in 2025 and associated listing activity on BSX reconfirms our global standing as the listing venue of choice for ILS issuers,” Greg Wojciechowski, president and BSX chief executive told Artemis.
The publication reported that the BSX ended the 2025 calendar year with $65.2 billion in ILS related listings, an impressive growth of 16.4 per cent in 2025, from just under $56 billion at the end of 2024.
Artemis said the BSX added 209 new cat bond and ILS listings to the exchange by December 31, bringing the total to 746.
ILS securities on the BSX include catastrophe bond programmes and notes, preference or other shares from quota share structures such as reinsurance sidecars, and mortgage insurance-linked securities.
