Canopius, a leading international speciality and property and casualty re/insurer, has appointed Victoria Baxter as head of property treaty in London effective immediately.

Ms Baxter has been appointed to the role to spearhead Canopius’ property treaty business in London in lockstep with its teams in Bermuda and the Asia Pacific region.

She became head of United States property treaty for Canopius in 2022 following three years as a reinsurance underwriter in the team. She joined Canopius when the business acquired AmTrust in 2019 and brings more than two decades of experience of underwriting in the London market.

Canopius continues to invest in its reinsurance business, building its teams in London, Bermuda, Singapore and Sydney, with ambitious growth plans for its treaty division.

Ms Baxter will report to Rachel Webber, head of reinsurance, United Kingdom, who will join Canopius in February 2026.
