Carrick Group hires Matt Brand
Carrick Group Limited, a Bermudian-based international non-life legacy insurer, has announced the appointment of Matt Brand as head of governance.
Mr Brand spent ten years at Hampden Group, most recently as group head of operations. He reports to chief executive officer Tom Nichols and is responsible for ensuring that all of Carrick’s operations are compliant with regulators in Bermuda and the UK.
Mr. Brand, who is based in London, started his career in 2005 at Seymour Taylor, before moving to Blick Rothenberg, where he was client manager.
In January, Carrick announced it was strengthening the business with the appointment of Alex Smith as senior vice-president, operations, in London, and Aidan Mills as vice-president of M&A, in Bermuda.
“As Carrick continues to grow into new regulated jurisdictions, we are delighted to welcome Matt to head up our global corporate governance, ensuring that Carrick continues its regulatory excellence with consistency and transparency,” said Mr Nichols.
“I am thrilled to lead the corporate governance function at Carrick Holdings,” said Mr Brand. “My priority is to ensure our protocols remain rigorous and effective as we provide specialised finality solutions to the market. I look forward to leveraging my background in the sector to protect the interests of our stakeholders and support Carrick’s long-term success."
