IGI appoints Collett to board as Anthony retires
International General Insurance Holdings Ltd has announced a series of changes to its board of directors, including the appointment of a veteran reinsurance executive and the retirement of a long-serving member.
The Bermudian-based insurer said Thomas Collett will join its board effective Thursday, bringing more than four decades of experience in the reinsurance industry. Mr Collett previously served as managing director of Guy Carpenter in Dallas and has held senior roles at Willis Re, Benfield, General Re and Munich American Re.
He serves as a director of Dallas Specialty Insurance Co, owned by Griffin Highline, and sits on a number of advisory and educational boards. He will also join IGI’s compensation committee.
The company also announced the retirement of David Anthony, who has served on the board since March 2020. Mr Anthony was chairman of the compensation committee and a member of the audit and risk committee.
Before joining the IGI board, he served as a director of IGI Holdings Dubai Ltd from 2018 to 2020 and on the board of Bermudian-based subsidiary IGI Co Ltd from 2020 to 2025.
Andrew Poole, a director, has been appointed chairman of the compensation committee and has also joined the audit and risk committee.
Wasef Jabsheh, executive chairman of IGI, thanked Mr Anthony for his contribution, saying his insights and experience, particularly as a senior insurance ratings analyst, had supported the company’s strategic development.
He added that Mr Collett’s leadership and reinsurance expertise would be a valuable resource as IGI continues to grow and focus on delivering long-term value to shareholders.
