Ariel Re announces slew of promotions

Ariel Re announced today a number of promotions across its Bermuda and London offices.

The Bermudian-based global reinsurance business said it continued its stated mission to be an “academy firm”, a place for ambitious re/insurance professionals to learn and develop their careers.

In Actuarial, Jack Strong has been promoted to deputy head of capital modelling and Will Ross to senior actuarial analyst.

In Analytics and Technology, Kristy Schwaegerl has been promoted to senior vice-president, head of infrastructure services, and Simon Wray to SVP, head of application services. Neil Pohlman has been promoted to vice-president, head of portfolio planning, Roman Sklyar to VP, technical lead, and Brian Darling to VP, head of portfolio management. Valentina Putrino has been promoted to senior analyst, catastrophe analytics, and Rahul Choudhry to senior software developer.

In Capital and Risk, Andy Kerr has been promoted to SVP, capital, and Alan Pittendrigh to VP, PMO and risk.

In Finance and Operations, Grace Sousa has been promoted to SVP, head of operations, Neil Figureido and Tiago Ferreira to reinsurance analyst, and Rhys Callely to senior syndicate accountant.

In Underwriting, Giovanni Maccioni has been promoted to SVP, underwriter, Carolina Medeiros to underwriter, and Louise Andrews and Megan Zimmerer to assistant underwriter. As previously announced, Sarah Morgan has been promoted from SVP, property underwriting, to head of property.
