Pinion appoints Chris Jones as CFO
Pinion Insurance, a newly-formed, technology-enabled specialty insurer, announced that Chris Jones has joined the company as group chief financial officer.
Based in London, Mr Jones joins a founding leadership team of Neil McConachie, chief executive officer, Philip Vandoninck, group chief underwriting officer, and Laura Baird, group chief technology officer. He is a member of Pinion’s Executive Committee.
Mr Jones has more than 30 years’ experience in finance and accountancy. He was previously UK CFO at Aspen Insurance Group. Prior to that, he held finance leadership roles at Beazley Furlonge and Liberty Syndicates. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Mr McConachie said: “Chris is an excellent addition to the Pinion founding management team. He has enjoyed a sterling career in the insurance industry, and his expertise will be invaluable as we build out the business.”
Mr Jones said: “I am excited to have the opportunity to join such an innovative business as Pinion, a business that will be built using modern technology for operational efficiency. We have strong financial backing, and I am looking forward to working with Neil, Philip and Laura.”
The appointment follows that last month of Kyle Selvig as US chief underwriting officer, and is effective immediately.
