Ascot names Ian Lowe to lead Bermuda property treaty unit
Ascot Group has appointed Ian Lowe as head of its Bermuda property treaty business, the company announced.
Mr Lowe will report to Marc Amen, chief executive of North America and interim chief executive of Ascot Bermuda, and will lead the firm’s property treaty reinsurance platform on the island.
The company said he will be responsible for building on the unit’s existing market position while driving performance and consistency across the portfolio.
He succeeds Simon Kimberley, who has stepped down from the role to pursue other opportunities.
Mr Amen said Mr Lowe’s appointment would provide continuity for the business.
“Ian is a proven leader within Ascot with a deep understanding of the Bermuda reinsurance market,” he said. “He brings continuity, extensive experience and trusted relationships to the role and will continue delivering for our clients in this important segment.”
Mr Lowe has more than 20 years of experience in the property and casualty treaty reinsurance market.
Before joining Ascot in 2017, he held senior treaty reinsurance roles at Willis Re and Guy Carpenter in London.
