Aon Insurance Bermuda has presented a $10,000 cheque to the DailyMale charity.

DailyMale originally targeted the male community on island to improve early detection rates of prostate cancer.

The mobile clinic is now providing health screenings across the island to both men and women, bridging the existing inequality gaps in access to healthcare.

The Aon donation will assist in the purchase of screening kits and the running costs of the charity’s mobile screening clinic.

Jonathan Makanjuola, the executive director of DailyMale and consultant urologist at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, received the cheque from Richard Tomkins, the managing director of Aon Reinsurance Solutions.

Thanks to early-stage screening, doctors diagnosed early-stage cancer in Mr Tomkins. He is now cured.

Mr Tomkins said: “Since my diagnosis, I have become somewhat of a preacher about the importance of early screening by your medical professional.”
