How you can heal your body with a little help from God

For the past three years, Elder Leonard Santucci has hosted the Community Bible Class at the Devonshire Seventh-Day Adventist church hall every Wednesday evening.

The class is open to people of all faiths who are interested in learning about the Bible and Christianity.

Next week, the class will feature a special lecture by Shelem Flemons, and his wife Diane, directors and founders of Times of Refreshing, a life-style retreat centre in Blairesville, Georgia.

?We are Christian hygiene practitioners,? Mr. Flemons said. ?We specialise in the use of natural remedies.?

?We?re going to be sharing eight principles of health from the Bible ? how the body heals itself with God?s help.?

The points spell out the acronym, God?s Plan, and include: Godly trust, open air, daily exercise, sunshine, proper rest, lots of water, always temperate and nutrition.

?We find that there are four steps to healing,? Mr. Flemons explained. First, you must ascertain the cause and then change unhealthful conditions. Next, you must correct wrong habits, and, finally assist the body in expelling impurities, Mr. Flemons advised.

After the lecture, which will be held at the Devonshire Seventh-Day Adventist church hall on Wednesday April 26, there will be a time of open discussion and question and answer, as well as a natural remedy demonstration. The evening begins at 7pm.

The couple also hope to hold other meetings and discussions during their stay.

The Times of Refreshing Retreat Centre hosts seven- and ten-day retreats, offering guests the option to cleans their bodies, minds and spirits through healthful eating, personal consultations, devotions and workshops. A number of Bermudians have benefited from their stays.
