I am Ivan Gibbons, the son of George and Cecily Gibbons. My mind goes back before 1983 when God called me out of doing mason work to do colporteur work ? to be a literature evangelist.

They have been the most wonderful years of my life. I have enjoyed putting literature and booklets in the houses in Bermuda for the past 22 years. God has performed many miracles in my life and God has told me to share them with Bermuda. My greatest experiences happen when I was doing mason work. I don?t share this experience, because sometimes I just think of it and it causes me to weep. My heart is overjoyed to be used by God ? to help my mother make it into God?s Kingdom. God has led me to help many people to prepare to meet Jesus in peace just before they pass on.

To be led by God is the greatest thing that has happened to me. A son?s prayer that helps his mother be ready to meet Jesus in peace just before she passes on. It happened many years ago when I and my wife Joan went to Alabama to witness our son Eugene?s graduation. I had planned for two weeks vacation ? the first week in a hotel and the last week I would stay with my son and his family. The graduation was on the second weekend. But God had other plans. His plans did not keep me from the graduation. It was planned well. This testimony is true. God has performed many miracles through me to help others. I will share one with you each week for a while. I pray you will be blessed with much peace and love.

The first two days my wife and I spent at the hotel. On the first night I fell on my knees to pray. A voice out of heaven called my name and said: ?Ivan, your mother needs your prayers?. Quickly I felt a heavy burden come upon me and then the Holy Spirit came upon me and I prayed only for my mother and as I finished my prayer I felt the burden was lifted. I went to bed and the next morning I awoke.

Later in the day, my son Eugene called and said that my brother Robert called and said for you to call him right away. As I put the phone down my mind reflected on the previous night and I realised my mother had passed on. Once again I heard a voice speak to me saying, ?Ivan, your mother is alright now.?

I was shown that my mother had been put to sleep. Then I called Robert and he told me that my mother passed on last night so I told him to call Mr. Amis and tell him to take her body and prepare her for burial and that I would be right home. As I went to view my mother along with family and friends, I saw my niece start to break down. I went to her and put my arms around her and told her that she was alright now. ?Yes, Uncle Ivan, she felt comfort.? And as I looked at my mother I could swear I saw her smile. My mother awaits Jesus? return. I thank God for using me to help my mother in her last moments of life. Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus! Ellen G. White said in one of her writings that when the colporteur reaches heaven there will be angels bringing people to them and they will say it was that book you sold me or it was through your presence that is why I made it to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Sometimes just the thought of an angel bringing my mother to me in heaven and saying it was through your prayers that I am here ? just the thought of it causes tears to flow like water.

Just before I left to go away I went to see my mother to be sure she was alright. Before I left she hugged me real tight as if she wanted to tell me something. I asked her if everything was alright and she said ?yes, I am fine.? But it appears she was not all right, but God and his great love said that everyone should not perish but have everlasting life. Thank God for His grace and love.
