Winans to sing in Bermuda
Five time Grammy winner Ce Ce Winans will be performing in Bermuda on July 30.
The concert at The Chapel of the Anointing is part of the singer?s ?Throne Room Tour?. And it is being run in conjunction with Bishop Vernon George Lambe Sr.?s 30th anniversary as a pastor with The First Church of God North Shore .
Ms Winans has won a myriad of gospel and R&B awards, with many of her albums being certified gold or platinum. One of her best known songs was a collaboration with Whitney Houston on the ?Waiting to Exhale? soundtrack. The single ?Count on Me? sold two million copies and reached the Top Ten on pop, R&B and adult contemporary charts.
Ms Winans has also appeared on many television shows including Oprah, The Tonight Show and 7th Heaven.
Despite her commercial successes on mainstream stations, Ms Winans has said: ?Worship is probably my favourite kind of music.
?For some time, I?ve really felt like God was telling me to record a very special project that would encourage people to worship.?
Her desire to produce a religiously inspired record was realised when her most recent CD was entitled ?Throne Room?. It is filled with religiously inspired lyrics.
The concert ? which starts at 7.30 p.m. ? is being put on to honour and celebrate Bishop Lambe?s long service to the community as an inspiring pastor.
Tickets bought in advance will be $50 for adults, $25 for children. Those bought at the door will be more expensive. They will be sold at First Church of God North Shore, Love Alive Ministries, El Shaddai Florist, Christian Bookstore and Esso City Tiger Mart. For more information email ljenkinsfcognorthshore.bm
