Charles Wesley's Birthday
With the Christmas season upon us, few may realise that December 18, 2007 is the 300th anniversary of the prolific hymn writer, Charles Wesley, who penned, among many others, the beloved Christmas carol, "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing."
The Wesley Methodist Church date will be commemorated during the morning service tomorrow, as well as the choir's performance of "Lessons". Wesley Methodist, also warmly invite the public to share in their live nativity tableau on Friday, December 21 at 6 p.m., and to bring their score of the "Messiah" to join in singing portions of Handel's oratorio at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 23.
A small donation of $10 is being requested in aid of the church's organ restoration. Traditional Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services will be held at 7 p.m. and 10.30 a.m., respectively. For more information on these events, you may call the church office at 292-0418.
