Baha'i elder on Island for spiritual consult

A well-travelled Baha'i humanitarian is on the Island to lecture on prayer, meditation and morality.

Meherangiz Munsiff is paying a two-week visit to Bermuda to give free lessons on prayer and meditation and to discuss the role of women and educate children on morality.

The 74-year-old Baha'i, who hails from India, has visited 183 countries and gained notoriety in the 1950's for being the first person from India to meet with a number of Native American tribes. Until last Thursday she had never set foot on Bermuda.

Mrs. Munsiff, who was awarded the 1956 American National Red Cross Award for exceptional human service, said she has been struck by how clean Bermuda is and said the Island reminded her of Singapore.

On Monday, Mrs. Munsiff will be the guest speaker on the radio programme `Baha'i Live' from 8 to 9 p.m.

Mrs. Munsiff will be meeting the public this Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a Smith's Parish residence. Anyone interested in meeting her should call Mary Walker at 236-5013 for more information.
