Graveside services and interment were held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Otis Air Force Base, Borne, Massachusetts.

Violet was born February 21, 1909, at Sandys, Bermuda, the daughter of Thomas Wilson and Alice Maud Rice Gleeson.

She married Otis Armstrong, Sr. on February 6, 1942 at the Pembroke Parish Church, Bermuda.

She retired as a Registered Nurse.

Survivors include one son, Otis Armstrong, Jr. of Muscatine, Iowa; one grandchild; two nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, Thomas, Herbert and Willie Gleeson; two sisters, Alice Marshal and Dolly Murphy.
