Church explores Canadian links

Anglican Bishop of Bermuda the Rt. Rev. William Down said establishing closer voluntary links with the Anglican Church of Canada will be discussed at the Canadian church's annual meeting in Bermuda on April 14.

"I thought it would be good for them to come here and see what the Anglican Church in Bermuda is doing,'' Rev. Down said.

The nine Canadian bishops, accompanied by their wives, arrive on April 14 to a welcome reception hosted by Cdr. Geoffrey Kitson at Rosedon Hotel.

Tourism Minister the Hon. C.V. (Jim) Woolridge will address them at their first business session.

And they will dine with Premier the Hon. Sir John Swan and Lady Swan at Camden later that evening.

During their week-long stay, the bishops and their wives will also have dinner at Government House and visit Burt's Island, Willowbank, and Heydon House.

On April 18 they will visit different parishes, preaching at various morning services of Anglican congregations.

At 4 p.m. that day they are also scheduled to attend a special Evensong at the Cathedral in Hamilton.
