Bishop T.D. Jakes will continue to air God's messages today at the National Stadium in Devonshire.
Bishop Jakes, who took to the stage last night, is a popular television evangelist from Dallas, Texas.
"T.D. Jakes is the most popular evangelist in Bermuda,'' claimed Laquita Curtis, one of the local organisers of the event. "We believe Bishop Jakes will draw people from every walk of life and in every age group.
"His television shows are extremely popular and he has a way of putting the Word of God into the context of individual lives everywhere he goes.'' In addition to hosting a television programme "Get Ready'', the 39-year-old evangelist is also pastor of the fastest growing mega-church in the US, The Potter's House Church in Dallas, Texas.
He has also written 13 books and recorded an album.
Ms Curtis said as many as 5,000 people were expected to show up for what they believed was the first gospel event at the National Stadium.
Those interested in attending today's 11 a.m. event can purchase $20 tickets at the gate.
