Rev. Frank Reid aiming to reach men with his message

Church in Baltimore, Maryland has arrived in Bermuda with the hope of reaching Bermudian men with his message.

Dr. Reid told The Royal Gazette , while in Bermuda, the one segment of the population he wished to reach with his sermon were men.

"If you help the men, it will help the women, who in turn help the children.

The men are crucial,''he noted.

Dr. Reid added that Bermuda needs to encourage its black men because the "chains'' and burdens they faced were "too heavy to carry''.

"They need encouragement from society, parents, the church, friends and in the schools,'' he explained.

Dr. Reid said Bermuda's youth needed to stay positive and advised all Bermudians to pray because "prayer makes the impossible possible''.

He added that he hopes to have a successful revival at Mount Zion AME Church that will "bless the people of the church and the Bermudian community''.

Dr. Reid has an international following as the host of "Outreach of Love'' aired on the Black Enterainment Network and the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service Broadcast.

"Outreach of Love'' has a viewership of some 34 million while the Armed Forces Service broadcasts in 123 countries to over 1.5 million military personnel and civilians.

Bethel Baltimore has become one of the largest AME churches in the US and has one of the fastest growing congregations of any Protestant denomination.
