youth conference next week.

The Youth Ministry of Radnor Road Christian Fellowship has organised the four day conference to gather young people in preparation for carrying the Christian message into the new millennium.

The Pastor of Youth at the church, Daron Lowe, said the conference was to share with them the "precepts and principles'' as regards to their lives.

"We're now in a new era,'' he said "We want to reach the new generation with computers, the internet, and visual and musical presentations.'' Pastor Lowe said that an example of the new approach is a change in the forms of music performed.

He said: "What is good for past generations may change. Hymns are still important but the presentation may change.'' In addition, uncertainty about the new millennium must be changed for young people to give them stability.

Pastor Lowe explained there will be a wholesome party on Saturday from 8 p.m.

in which "hip and funky'' Christian music will be featured.

He added: "We ask that they bring three items of non-perishable food. We want them to consider people in need while they have fun.'' The weekend's events begin with a Youth Leader's Round Table for organisers from all around the Island at 8 p.m.

Youth events begin on Friday at 8 p.m. for the Soulfire Youth Rally in which all youth groups -- regardless of denomination -- are invited.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. there will be workshops until "Millennial Madness'' games held on the church grounds.

The events will culminate on Sunday with a youth service incorporating aspects of the whole Soulfire weekend at 11 a.m.

Radnor Road Christian Fellowship invite the general public tonight to "Halloween 3:16'' a showing of Carmen live in concert on the TBN network.

The doors will open at 10.30 p.m. for an 11 p.m. start.
