Bermudian Ann Custodio Blasi dies in New Jersey

PARSIPPANY – Ann D. (Custodio) Blasi of Lake Hiawatha passed away November 21, 2008, at St. Clare's Hospital/Denville. She was 97.

Ann was born in Bermuda. She arrived in the United States in 1939, settling in Paterson before moving to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany 63 years ago.

Ann worked at the Knoll Country Club in Parsippany for many years before retiring.

She was a member of St. Peter's Senior Citizen Club. She was an avid bingo player for over 50 years and she loved to crochet and knit.

Ann is predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank, who passed away on March 14, 1994.

Survivors include her loving children, Leo Custodio and his wife, Katherine of Bermuda, James Rodriguez and his wife, Janice of Coram, N.Y., Phoebe Simons of Bermuda, Madeline Holmes and her husband, William T. Jr. of Bennington, Vermont, Joan Arrowsmith and her husband, Malcolm of Fredon, and Barbara Gialanella and her husband, Jerry of Parsippany; and her treasured 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Parsippany.

Interment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
