Crawl Church to host combined evangelistic and prophecy conference

Crawl Church, which meets at Crawl Gospel Hall in Hamilton Parish, will be hosting a special conference next week, featuring guest speaker Dwight Knight of Challenge Ministries in Detroit, Michigan.

Key to the goals of Challenge Ministries International is the discipleship of young people, particularly young men, to carry on the work of God to a high standard.

Rev. Knight is no stranger to Bermuda, having visited the island several times in the past.

This past summer, he visited Camp Hope, along with his wife, Stephane, and three young men he had been working with.

A combined evangelism and prophecy conference, Crawl Church's conference, "The Coming Dictator and the Coming King," will focus on studying the final book of the Bible, Revelation.

According to Elder Dean Furbert, "The topic focuses on an interest in our time of coming events and the turmoil in our world today.

"It has caused people to be concerned not only with where the are, but with the end of the world and what happens next. I believe that in the mind of every one, there is a quest for security and happiness."

The concern about the future, he feels, grows out of what is seen by so many as a changing world faced with wars and natural disasters, as well as a general demoralisation of society.

"Technology has brought the entire world closer together with a greater awareness of the challenges that are faced by people and countries about which we knew very little in the past."

"In Bermuda, in particular, the rise of crime has become something of a shock and that has brought a heightened awareness of the radical change that has taken place over the years and the need for people to develop a greater control of their conduct and the need to create a more ordered society.

"In spite of the affluence Bermuda has enjoyed, there has been an obvious loss of traditional values."

But where is the answer? Elder Dean points directly at the Bible and the need for Christians to live out their Christianity.

"There is a need for a renewed faith in God, which is where it starts, and a love for people, which flows from that.

"We believe the answer to all of man's problems is faith in Christ, who is the coming King, and is the source and strength for successful living."

"Revelation is the book in the Bible which provides us with a full revelation of who Jesus Christ is, in terms of the manifestation of his power in the end to make all things right.

"Eventually, it will be His kingdom that will be established here on earth. We have the opportunity today to recognise Him as the coming King and, through faith in Him, have the privilege of sharing in His coming Kingdom."

"The Coming Dictator and The Coming King" conference will run from Monday, November 1 to November 7, except for Saturday, November 6.

Services will begin at 8 p.m. each night. Rev. Knight will also be sharing in the morning services at Crawl Church on Sunday, October 31 and Sunday, November 7, beginning a 11.15 a.m.
