Lightbourne scholarship awarded

Kristina Bean is the latest recipient of the 2009 Darron Lightbourne Memorial Scholarship.Ms Bean will be entering her final year at The University of Guelph-Humber, Ontario where she is pursing a degree in Social Work. Her goal is to obtain her Masters Degree in Social Work.Ms Bean is a graduate of Albert College, Ontario Canada. Over the years she has been involved with PRIDE Bermuda and The First Bermuda Rangers. Kristina attends Marsden First United Methodist Church, and is quite active in her church choir, as she loves to sing.

This scholarship was established in June, 2005 to honour the memory of Darron Lightbourne, a proud graduate of Talladega College, Class of 2000.

This annual scholarship is funded by donations from the general public. To date a total of $20,000.00 has been awarded by the scholarship fund. Donations for the Darron Lightbourne Memorial Scholarship can be sent to the following:
