Methodist women welcome top official

Methodist women are gearing up for a special visit next week – the president of the churches' United Church Women will be visiting.

United Church Women (UCW) , is drawn from the Wesley, Ebenezer and Emmanuel Methodist churches, and every other year, the Bermuda UCW is visited by the president of the UCW as they are the only outside membership of Canadian Methodist church.

Letha Mowett's visit will be marked by meeting and addressing the Bermudian UCW, overseeing procedures during their 23rd Annual General Meeting and of course, a little sightseeing.

The local congregations are eager and ready for the president's arrival. According to the president of the UCW Presbetyrial of Bermuda, Marilyn Dyer, the UCW president, Letha Mowatt, is scheduled to visit from March 20 to March 27 and will be catered to by local members and well known figures.

On Sunday, March 21, she will be at the Wesley Methodist church for the morning service as well as for the afternoon concert featuring Lloyd Matthews and the "Ensemble Singers".

This visit is representative of the fact that the churches have a method of business that is conducive to good church operations. Anyone can join the worship services being held during this time to have a better understanding of the church's inner workings.
