TWICE THE LIMIT CTS Twice the limit Driving while impaired has cost a 58-year-old Hamilton Parish man $400 and a year off the road.

Ken Outerbridge, of Crawl Point Lane, pleaded guilty to the charge in Magistrates' Court.

Outerbridge was stopped by Police on Mount Road, St. David's on December 22 at about 10 p.m., prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne said.

Tests showed he had 169 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Outerbridge, who had no previous convictions, claimed Police would not have stopped him if he had not had his helmet unfastened.

But Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis said that was not the point. The point was that he was riding with more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
