Dr. Elmore will be among a bevy of motivational speakers attending St. John AME's Retreat '96 which is scheduled to begin on Friday.

The author of the bestseller "How To Love A Black Man'', Dr. Elmore is also a professional counsellor and ordained minister.

And he has vast research into the dynamics of interpersonal relationships, especially "African-American ones''.

Also known as "`The Relationship Doctor'' on Southern California talk radio, Dr. Elmore's views have appeared in various publications including Essence, JET, Ebony and Ebony Man.

Meanwhile, youth presenter Stephanie S. Scott from Los Angeles, California will lead a youth workshop as well as a special liturgical dance workshop for girls Saturday afternoon.

A former casting director in the film and television industry, Ms Scott worked on projects like the television show "A Different World'' and "Roc''.

Currently Ms Scott is pursuing a dual Masters Degree in Divinity and Christian Education, with plans to start a Christian School for the Arts which will teach the gospel through theatre, film, television, dance and music.

The men's workshops will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Chandler Cleveland.
